After extensive research we have found what is perhaps the most revolutionary hand held tuning tool in the market.

Courtenay ProTech interacts with the ecu via the car's OBDII (diagnostic) port. It is very easy to use via the four way control pad, and features an LCD display panel which will guide you step by step through a series of menus. The tool has the ability to hold your standard factory map plus 3 different tuned files, and can be used to read and erase trouble codes (DTC’s). It has an ****ogue input socket for a wide band lambda sensor and when used with the software provided features live data logging of up to 24 parameters.

Simply plug the ProTech into the OBDII port, plug the USB cable into your PC and start up live link. Select a whole range of parameters so you know exactly what your vehicle is doing. Use your lap top for data logging on the move and save files for ****ysis.

Finally, you can migrate your ProTech unit to a different vehicle up to 5 times and load an infinite number of tuning files - so if you change your car regularly your money is well spent!

We are due to release ProTech towards the end of 2007. We will also be offering existing customers a promotional deal on the unit.

Aren't these exsisting superchip custom tuning units from the USA? We're programing a '96 Mustang V8 with one right now!

Are you going to bring this beast out any time soon?

well it was a tongue in cheek remark, courts said it is coming soon and he posted it on 6 nov 2007, now it is nearly the end of march and a few months have passed with no update.

Like i said if you basically want a held held device which you can put on and take of remaps right now, thorney and IPF which at the moment regal are selling them are on the market to buy

Jay is quite right we are working together on this and Stephan is writing the Dream Science platform at the moment. He is also writing a safe Generic Stage 1 map for Dream Science. Further stages will be available from us and possibly Dream Science, however neither of us are keen just to send stage 2/3 maps out on box's without having seen, checked and adjusted the map specifically for the car, as too many problems can occur from this suck it a see sort of tuning, furthermore Vauxhall are very anti this approach.

Thorney
30th April 2008, 06:27 PM
True.

Its for this reason that we have adopted the Performance Centre approach with training to ensure the car is in perfect condition before any modifications take place.

True.

Its for this reason that we have adopted the Performance Centre approach with training to ensure the car is in perfect condition before any modifications take place.

Ok but the point Jon was making was:

We will not be sending out Protech with stage 2/3 maps on unless we have the car here to set up properly on the dyno - I don't think all Performance Centres are fortunate enough to have the facility of a Dyno regardless of their training, as for Stage 1 then as Jon has stated they will be a generically safe conservative map, however potentially power will be available to the cars that get set up on our Dyno.

As for checking the car before mapping I hope every Tuner adopts this approach :o

I'm sure DAP and VXRPC will moan about that.;)

C5 VXL
1st May 2008, 02:36 PM
Not sure which part you are referring to but I know whilst DAP and VXPC do not have Dyno facilities but they do check their cars looking at knock retard and do use an AFR meter.

(obviously they do this on a private test track)

Anyway back to Protech :D

:D Nothing to Moan about,
Its ok having a dyno, its Ok not having a dyno, no problems with either as long as it is all checked properly.

I think that was a bit ****** to be honest. I dont think there has been a proven right or wrong way of tuning.

I think I have heard horror and praise for every tuner on these boards whether they use a dyno or not

The units DREAMSCIENCE use came from SCT (Superchips Custom Tuning) in the US.
http://www.sctflash.com/GMXC2.php

The software the 2 (DS & Courts) will be offering with the units is from the same software developer Klassen but would be developed specifically for each tuner.

to be honest the gains are pretty poor from the map when you look at regals 230bhp map i know what you can get out these cars i seen one rolling roaded at 270bhp with just a remap

i know that this is quite high and will cause alot of pressure on internals but it proves wat they can be mapped to i wouldn't see any problem with 250bhp surely
