Hello there!

Hi folks,

just a quick hello, I'm a newbie to Vauxhall (apart from my old Calibra years back) and from this Monday, a proud Corsa VXR owner, despite what some jealous rivals say about it! :)

I haven't even driven one yet, just got caught up in the styling I suppose. It was a toss up between the Astra or Corsa, but in the end decided to go down the Corsa route.

I've come straight from a Smart Forfour BRABUS, so hopefully I wont be too disappointed in the performance stakes. Think the Corsa is pretty much on par with the BRABUS, if not a wee bit quicker.

Anyhoo, looking forward to Monday. Seems like a great site by the way!

I've got the 18" alloys and the sight and light pack . . . and that's it I think! The colour is flame red, can't wait to pick it up!

It does look stunning, only ever seen 2 on the roads up my way. I'm sure that will change with time though.

I'm from Scotland originally, but been living just outside Newcastle for the past 5 years or so.

I agree, Flame red is a fantastic colour, compliments the car to no end. The other colours are nice too though, think I would have had any colour at a push.

I'm from Kirkintilloch originally (small town just north of Glasgow), moved down here through gigging with my band and working in recording studios, etc, then I met my g/friend and have been here ever since! Quite a nice part of the world actually.

Anyway, roll on Monday. I'm travelling to Manchester to collect first thing in the morning . . . straight after a nightshift! I'll be like a zombie, but it'll be worth it! :o

Only a few hours to go now before I set off to collect it. Just finished my nightshift and I can't sleep! I'm too impatient for my own good.

I will let you all know what I think of it when I finally get in it and drive it home. I'll get some pics up as well.

Hey guys and galls,

well, what can I say, collected the Corsa yesterday and I hate it! Nah, only kiddin, it's absolutely fantastic! Lol . . .

What a pleasant surprise, not only when driving the car, but just sitting in it for the first time. The car is tardis like and the quality inside, in my opinion, competes against a lot of other cars out there with much larger price tags. I am truly impressed, pictures don't do these cars any justice. The only thing I have noticed which lets the interior down, is that poor excuse for a glove box! Obvoiously an after thought on Vauxhalls part! Loving the gadgets though!

The drive home from manchester to Newcastle (considering the miserable conditions) was fantastic. Coming from a Smart Forfour BRABUS, which handled perfectly and drove like a dream, I was not disappionted in the slightest. The corsa is a completely different car to drive compared to the BRABUS, (Corsa feels much more civilised) but it still has all the attributes I was expecting from a powerful turbo charged engine. Had a wee play with a couple of cars on the way home, one being a BMW M tourer estate and did I keep up . . . yes I did! The Corsa felt effortless under acceleration too, I have to say.

The last time I drove a Corsa, it was a 1.2l and was back in 1997 when I took my driving test and passed . . . on the third attempt! (cough, cough) Back then I liked the Corsa, but then again, I liked pretty much anything as long as it had four wheels and I could drive it! How it has come on over the past 10 years, eh!

Anyway, not had much of a chance to drive it since being back as I've been on nightshift . . . again (31 hours with no sleep-rock on!) :o:o:o:o, but I can't wait to get back out in it later again. I am so happy with it (even if it has only been one days worth or ownership) and I'm glad to say that my girlfriend is verrrrrry jealous indeed so, mission accomplished! :D

Oh, read on here somewhere that it has a dump valve (recirculation valve) fitted as standard, but couldn't hear it on way home for some reason! :confused:
