Hi,

I am looking to buy a Corsa VXR in the next couple of weeks.

I have noticed some have door bump strips and some dont

Is there any reason for this ?? the car i have found locally has them, but i want to take them off, are they just stuck on ??

Thanks

Hayley...:)

Hey there, welcome along!!!

Not too sure about the door strips, but I'm sure someone on here will be able to help you out. We're all a real friendly bunch (well, most of us anyway!)

My corsa doesn't have them, but I assume there would be some painting to do once they are off? I may be wrong though.

Regardless of the strips, you won't be disappointed in the VXR!

Hi! As far as I'm aware the VXR doesn't come with bump strips, unless this has been added by the dealer, or at the factory.

But the standard corsa d bump strips are just stuck on.

Welcome....
Side rub strips only came on the very first batch of dealer demos but was not planned for production on VXR's, but the OPC's do have the rub strips fitted.

I have an 07 that was registered in April this year too and I don't have them.

They must just be stuck on then I'd imagine. If you are buying from a Vauxhall dealer, the best bet would be to mention it and ask them to take care of it for you. That way you don't have to worry about damaging the bodywork and if it secures them a sale, they should bend over backwards for you! ;)

I put a deposit down on my car today and they are taking the bump strips off for me cant wait till i can bring it home :D:D

Excellent, really pleased for you! The only hard part now is the wait to drive it away!!!

You won't be disappointed. :D

Forgot to ask, do the bump strips come off without damaging the paintwork right enough then?

Not sure to be honest but they were quite confident they are only stuck on and easily removed if they damage the paint its gonna cost them to fix it ;)

Hi and Welcome. You'll love the car. It's good that you have a few other VXRs in your area. I very rarely see another VXR.

TBH really unhelpfull no-one ever sems to be able to give me sraight answer ](*,)ive been a ford girl since i passed my driving test but the corsa vxr really caught my eye and i thought i must have one. I think its a geat car drives and looks superb but the dealership havent made my vauxhall buying experiance very enjoyable which is quite dissapointing .

But hopefully it will be all worth it when i eventually pick the car up [-o<

Hi Hayley, I was just wondering what you thought of the dealer but you have already answered that question and i tend to agree. Unfortunately I think the bigger the dealer the poorer the service! I got mine from the same place.

Andy.

The general feeling I get from speaking to various Vauxhall owners is that there is no such thing as a helpful Vauxhall dealer, unfortunately! Having said that, the dealer I bought my Corsa from was a nice guy but then again, I was buying a car from him, so he would be!

Yeah, Drive are rubbish, especially trying to get them to answer the phone.

We were offered the silver one from Drive, bit really wanted Arden, so drove to Weymouth to get Arden one instead.

Might see you about in Bristol.

Theres always a red Corsa VXR parked near central bristol but not sure if it is anyones off here ?

Sorry, to here you had so much trouble with the Avon Street, Drive VX, I had no problems at all with the service I recieved from Drive VX North, very happy with the sales chap ;) and all work done on the car since ie: service and fitting of cruise control :)

Yeah, I used the Avon Street Drive, but can imagine that the north Bristol (Kingswood?) would be much better service as it's smaller and more intimate.

Nope not the correct north Bristol  - Kingswood is Dan Harfords.
The Drive VX North is at Patchway by the Rolls Royce site, just off the A38 by the Royal Mail sorting office;)

I'm sorry to hear that.

I know if it was me, I'd be kicking off at them BIG TIME!

Is there nothing they can do for you at all? Even throwing in something for free to make up for the inconvenience they're causing you, at least? They'd be EXTREMELY foolish to argue with a pregnant woman! ;-)

Oh, congratulations by the way! :D
