This should ideally be done by Dealer. Using Headlight alignment guage.
Can be used to nudge up temporarily if too low till proper adjustment.

It works for Halogen and HID AFL's

Facing the car with bonnet open look down to headlamps just behind slam panel and also visible thru hole in outer part of slam panel.

4 in total white plastic hexagonal holes for a 6mm allan key on back of headlights.
Facing up to you.

The OUTER screws control VERTICAL adjustment.
[visible through hole on the slam panel]

The INNER screws control HORIZONTAL adjustment.

1)

VERTICAL adjustment. [outermost screws on back of light]

UP turn anti clockwise.
DOWN turn clockwise

:!:[NOTE it does appear when adjusting vertical that a slight horizontal error may be introduced. This is very minor if screw turned only half to one turn only. That is more than sufficient.]

2)

HORIZONTAL adjustment. [innermost screws on back of light]

Offside light [drivers side]

RIGHT turn clockwise
LEFT turn anti clockwise

Nearside light [passengers side]

RIGHT turn anti clockwise
LEFT turn clockwise.

Sorry no pictures. No camera.

Dealer also had a go but turned then 'in' [left] too far to be good. So we redone it to perfect accuracy on guage and right on the lines and hotspots.

The AFL's have a Z shape beam so less shine up the nearside hedges the Halogen's have the Assymetric dip beam which shoots up to the left quite high.

I prefer th Assymetric. But the Z beam extends further down the road surface.

That's the same for the vectra as well...except the hex holes are yellow.

Cant wait till the Zaff arrives as we speced AFL's.. I'll be using this then to push em up a little as thay are always too low.

If you adjust your headlight hieghts from standard you will find it will fail the mot, as they are set to BS.

Only use this thread if you are fitting 1 new headlight, if you are fitting two new headlights, fit them yourself if you wish but get the beam set up with the proper beam setting instrument which MOT centres have or some good bodyshops.
