Photos look great - and nice to see you're in front of the Porsche in this one ;-) (looks like a yellow Ferrari in the background too??)

Also - don't know if you remember - but were you at Oulton sometime in mid April for the Euro Saloons and Formula Ford day?? If so, I think you'd parked next to me up on the hill by the bridge looking down on Knickerbrook and Clay Hill - standard blue astra...??

:!: Sorry, this is a question heavy post. :!:

These pictures are good. Looks like you had a great time.

The driving
You running the Alcon brakes? How were they?
What suspension set-up did you have?
Were all the tyres completely cooked or did you get away with only replacing the fronts?
Did you have TC/ESP off the whole time?
Any tips you could give to a track day newbie? ie anything you'd do differently next time in the way you drove or how you approached the day in terms of when you went out on track, etc?

The event
Did you arrange a photographer privately or was there someone there in an official capacity taking pictures?
Was this a MotorSport Vision track day?
How did you find the organisation on the day itself?
I notice your lights are not taped up - I assume that is because they are plastic not glass?

Cheers

Thanks for this. Helpful

Enjoyed watching that video, watching which lines you take, when you braked, downshifting and using some engine braking, driving round the corners then accelerating out. Great stuff. You obviously are experienced.

Now I notice how slower cars when able to do so, pulled over to their RIGHT, (indicating right beforehand as courtesy), lifted off and let you pass on the LEFT. That's how I understand track protocol generally. However, for Bedford Autodrome, where I'll be on Fri 25 July, my first track day, the MSV guidance seems to give a different picture:

On The Day (continued)

Track Notes

On entering the circuit please keep to the right hand side and do not move over until the circuit behind you is clear.
Use the first few laps to warm up your tyres and familiarise yourself with the location of the marshal posts, etc.
Consider other drivers - Leave plenty of space when you overtake other cars.

OVERTAKING is on the RIGHT ONLY and on the straight sections as detailed in the drivers briefing on the day.

Use your mirrors regularly and if you see faster traffic behind you, move over to the left and let the other vehicle(s)
pass on the right. It is good etiquette for the driver being overtaken to ‘lift off’ (do not brake) to assist the overtaking
vehicle.

Is overtaking on the right unique to Bedford do you know?

I want to see more of the vec challenge car, sound like a nice bit of kit!

I did a track day on my GSXR 750 at Oulton last September, and it was the best day of my life. looking at the video, you were doing circa 2 minute lap times, which I wasn't on my bike 2m 15 ish (not bad for a first attempt) the bike seemed faster, if that makes any sense!

Great photo`s mate;)
Why the toeing eye though?

because if you have an off they just pull you out of the gravel by anything they can hook a chain up too. hence why we put towing eyes on.

You have to have one for track days so if you bak down out on track they can tow you out of way asap to keep everyone out on track for as long as possible
