It's a British thing... hating success ;)

I don't agree, Black VXR.

We don't hate success but saying 'the front wheels actually lift off the ground.' is bound to hook a few advers comments.

I am genuinely pleased for both Nigel and TMS. I am glad TMS has finally succeded and I look forward to meeting a fellow stage 5er soon.

The original post was very well written and described the accompishment expertly. Quite frankly the post would have had more positive feedback if John had just kept out of it. Mis quoting the power figures and then saying the car 'wheelied' is just silly. Problem is we are all used to reading bull when he starts writing and it devalues what would otherwise be a useful post.

Actually if you read my post (a rare event from some people) you will note that I said it was our race car that lifted the wheels off the floor a fact noted by the commentator and people on the pit wall at Snetterton. Never let the facts get in the way of a good dig though eh?

The power figures weren't misquoted, 337.5 was a measurement taken on a very hot day.
Anyway as long as your happy with your car and the TMS customer is happy with his - all's well that ends well :)

337.5 is fairly good result - i dont think the hot day thingy is an excuse though as the rollers will adjust accordingly.

How does it work out what degree of ignition retardation the ECU on an Astra VXR has calculated is required to protect the engine for the conditions on any given day and then compensate accurately?

Funny isn't it? He had got his car doing wheelies like Herbie but during the 9 months he worked on mine (5 whole months worth) he never got it anywhere near. Instead he cracked the rear clam and set the car on fire. Then after charging me a fortune on esential engine bits (like the ones on his car) he then says he has got 350BHP (30 more than mine) and a car that quote "takes off" from nothing more than a manifold, injector rail, turbo and a superchips map. The automotive genius.

If you are happy with your car ? , the TMS owner is too :)
Think the kind offer is there from the TMS STAGE 5 owner for you to experience the drive if you doubt his performance claims or are you looking for some sort of dyno duel :( Plenty of others who have been in the car seem to be very impressed.
You now have your car to your own satisfaction, just enjoy your car and let others enjoy theirs?
