Hiya,

Just registered to ask (and please don't think I'm taking the p**s) but did anyone else who's only been on 1 track day get through? I did and I'm thinking I'm going to look like an ar5e with no experience... (especially as it was answers to questions on the screen and not actual driving that got me through!).

Cheers all,

PS - Anyone know where the best place in or around Cardiff for a trial kart day is?

I will be there, the new slim version of me too.

Does anyone know how many laps we will get. If it is a short race then the more gravity defying of us (fatties) will be at a big disadvantage. Longer race then the better cornering with the weight helps

And do you think they will let me ST3 my cart?

Going off last year they got about 15mins and it was your fastest lap got you through to a final on the day.
Its all luck of the draw on which cart you get and how heavy you are.
the tolerances in the carts are within 2 seconds of each other. but last year the top 5 a one place was all within 1 second.

Hello

I'm also on my way to Wessex race way on the 20th.

I actually feel pretty confident, although I'll be suprised if I do get through...

Still, good luck to everyone!

How many people actually got through to the Semi's then?

I want to go as well, but it's going to be other circumstances dictate if i can or not.

If it starts at 09:00 - i have only 35 mins to get there (somehow)
Last flight back for me leaves at 16:15 and you need to be there what... (1 hour beforehand? - 15:15) and another 35 minutes to get from there to the airport - need to leave at 14:40
I have no leave left at work so i can't take any time off
I leave for the US on the 19th Sept so i can't afford to shell out loads less than 2 weeks beforehand

So... i may have no option but not to go.
To make a decision with the little info i have is extrememly hard.

I'm headin from NI myself! Gonna make a weekend of it with my wife, she's been on at me to go to Edinburgh for a weekend for ages!!! This seems a pretty good excuse for me to finally agree to go!!:D:D

Return on the HSS is about £165.00 for car + 2 passengers, only about 3.5hrs drive from the boat (I was at Knockhill for the BTCC last year which is same direction!)

Can't wait, never done anything like this before, should be a good laugh, need to loose a bit of weight though so my wife has me on weight watchers :oops:

Well im through to Manchester. I'm just praying i can take it all the way because this is far too good to be true and a big oppertunity to pursue my dream. I see alot of people have had track days, might be troublesome in the finals, but how many of you have been karting (religiously) before?

I've had loads of practice and seriously considered getting a license, just glad I never did. Oh yeah and I see your all worried about the little guys that weigh nothing, Don't worry about them. On the day your weight probably wont count unless somebody drives the same line as you (highly unlikely for all us un-trained people). However if you are heavy then its only going to come to 3 tenths per kilo, hardly anything in a Kart, so dont go worrying yourself silly its going to be skill (and the best line) that takes the win.

Good Luck to everyone in Manchester I'll see you on the 13th, and to everyone else I'll see you in the finals (hopefully!).
