Chris was one of my mates, he will be sadly missed.

Why he decided to try and get away I dont know. This is the 2nd death down that road in 2 years.

RIP Chris

Seems a terrible waste of life - regardless of circumstances, very sad

Surely people should of learnt badthings happen when you run from the police after that Jean Charles de Menezes got shot in London.

Yes totally different circumstances, but if your going to run from them, you're going to get hurt.

Bad example - Jean Charles wasn't even running from Police!

"It soon became clear that Menezes did not vault and run from the police, but police did not alter their statement until the correct information was leaked to the press. They later issued an apology"

At 23 I did alot of stupid things and got away with them.... I think we are all very lucky to make it out of our 20's (the males of us) It is a shame that someone has to loose their life instead of learning from a mistake.:(

I think we are all very lucky to make it out of our 20's (the males of us)

The females too ;).....I went though a phase of thinking I was immortal and bad things would never happen to me......it took me one head on collision, which although it wasn't my fault, made me re-evaluate and take more care on the roads.....it only takes one mistake.......

The A308 is a notorious bit of road for accidents/fatalities...used to use it everyday when I lived in Maidenhead....my Nan and Grandad used to live along there, and one night whilst sitting watching TV, ended up with a car through their front room window.....guy had lost control, straight up my Nan's driveway (about 30ft) and into their front room bay window......luckily my grandparents were ok apart from being obviously shaken up, and he escaped with minor injuries....

Sad situation, regardless of speculating about circumstances, will be a terrible loss for his family and friends. RIP :(

Hi guys, I still own a 2.2 vx 220 and have just part chopped it in for a VXR Corsa arctic.

The death of Chris in his car was spoke about a lot on the vx220.org site which I go on quite a bit, and a few people made a few unsavoury comments about him being followed/chased by the police, before the facts became clear.

Over the next few days the fact emerged that Chris was'nt being followed or persued by the police at all. He over took another car and when he pulled in front of the car he clipped the kerb, the car went into a spin and well you can guess the rest.

I believe that the girl passenger was his brothers girlfriend who made a full? recovery.

Once more the press played its part in sensationalising an unfortunate accident, which did nothing more than upset even more a grieving family and friends.

Not having a pop at anyone on here or owt, just felt you might want to know that he was'nt doing as was stated.
