Nurburgring - 28 to 31st August

A guy at work who has a beefed up Mazda RX7 has asked me if I want to go to the Ring at the end of August, just wondered if anyone else wants to tag along?

leave Thursday morning earlyish, return Sunday night or Monday morning. Track is open Thursday 17:15 - 19:30, Friday 17:15 - 19:30, Saturday and Sunday 08:00 - 19:30 and Monday 17:15 - 19:30.

Laps are 21 euros each apparantly...

This could all be a pipe dream, but if it does go ahead, wondered if anyone wants to have a bit of a road trip

I always wear a helmet there! Ive been in the death room at the local garage and seen what can happen to a car! That armco is particularly close to the road! Better safe than sorry!

yeah thats not bad what spec you got

Its running around 285 bhp and 360 ft/lb torque! Its got a Dreamscience re-map, K&N 57i GENII CAIS, 3" downpipe and 100 cpi sports cat and Eibach lowering springs! Ive got some 360 mm discs with 6 pot calipers too but they didnt do too well in July and cracked! Gonna get some undrilled discs for next year! Going back in september with a new set of standard discs and pads! what sort of mods and power are you all running? Are there many using the Dreamscience on the VXRs yet?

:grin:Sounds like yours is a beast there Paul! I must admit to liking the VXR Astra a lot! I nearly bought one! If the Nurburgring edition had been out then i might well have took the plunge! Im very happy with the ST though! Its a great all rounder at the expense of not being the greatest track car! Im hoping to get a Quaife LSD for next year which should improve some of the traction problems with it! If i could move the engine back about 6" it would really improve it!:lol:

:grin:The RS does look nice but its a bit too close to being a modded ST for me lol! I love the green though! I had a Series 2 RS Turbo with a 1.9 longblock engine! Lovely car and i hated selling it!:(

buggering ell, the thread has moved on a bit. So anyone wanna join us?

Leaving thursday from Heathrow at about 6am to get the 8am ferry to Dunkerque, I am going in "convoy" (2 of us LOL) with a Mazda RX7. Then I am coming back late sunday night, getting the monday morning 2am ferry from Dunkerque.

Do let me know if anyone wants to join in convoy :)
