This should be a brilliant day of madness im hoping it rains to make it even more difficult i have never done one of these before but for £25 they will run you through everything so that you can get going, also if you dont have a helmet they will supply one for £10 i have three so i can sort out the first two people if they want one, I dont mind taking one passenger if they are up for it( Do you trust me!!! haha i wouldnt) The price is £199 but you can race for as long as you like as long as you can afford petrol need to know by friday if i could as i will be booking it there i have been wanting to do this for ages and now its time for me to put my money where my mouth is those that wish to come and join are more then welcome should be a awesome day.

This is what the website says about the day and here is a link to the day:

Brands Hatch Indy circuit has a thrilling series of corners including the legendary Paddock Hill bend that will keep any track driver on their toes.

The open pit lane format will allow you to enjoy all the circuit time you can handle and develop your driving skills in a safe, controlled and professional environment.

The open pit lane events are more suited to the more experienced track driver, however if you have never been on track before then book a session of instruction and you will be up to speed in no time at all.

You will need your own Car.

Just a thought. There's a day for NOVICES in early OCTOBER,this would surely be better for the rookies. On the open pit lane you will have anything from full race cars to minis going round, the speed differences will be immense.:!:

I Thought the open pit day would be good because of that, most of us drive our cars pretty fast, ok I/we dont know track speeds and racing but i think it would bring us up to speed pretty quickly thats what it says on the website anyway.

I'm with TJ on this one. If you haven't done a track day before then do a novice one first.

If you go straight on an open pit lane day you will be seriously intimidated by many fast cars that will basically just want you out of the way. You'll probably find you're constantly off the gas to let them pass and will consequently find driving the ideal line and getting up to speed difficult.

On a novice track day it will be sessioned to limit the cars on track a bit more and you will be driving with other novices at similar speeds. I think you'd get more out of that. ;)

Just my thoughts. Either way track days are great fun.

Jeff.

a Novice day sounds good to me, when and where can we do those?

I have been rally driving but circuit driving is not the same for one there is other cars on the road, no co-driver.

M8 i have been doing some digging about, and i have found:

Saturday 11th October 2008 - Snetterton

Its meant to be very good there and it only costs £179.00 and £10 for an additional passenger to join.

I think it would be abit better there:

1, because its on a Saturday :D
2, Its more central for anyone who would like to join us:D

Here is the Web address for it: http://www.motorsportvision.co.uk/trackdays/event-details.asp?ProductID=4174

tell me what you think :D

OK.If you're going to SNETTERTON get your braking system FULLY sorted before you go.Speed at braking point for THE ESSES can be from 120mph up to 150mph.Too many stops from this speed on normal brakes will end in BIG tears.

Any way,have fun.

No, sorry I cannot make that date, its a very fast track so be careful if you haven't done many trackdays, I tend to find by mid afternoon one feels you can go faster, thats the time to tell yourself you have had a good day and the car is still driveable !!!!!.......:D
