View Full Version : When requiring a sig (please read first)

Okay; as you know, there`s a few of us on here that are willing to do sigs, as and when we can.

I think Eammon`s probably done more than anyone, Spool`s in the frame, NigVXR, Macca, MelXTC (sorry Mel, if the username`s not quite correct ), and myself, when I`m able, of course. (Apologies to anyone else that I`ve missed out !)

Anyway, the point of my post is to make people aware (especially the newbies), that when requesting a sig, there`s a couple of things needed from you.

Firstly we need some decent pics, and when I say decent, I mean reasonably hi-res, rather than something that`s been taken on 0.2 mp phone ! If the pic is low quality, and unclear, or blurred, it makes the whole sig look sub-standard before you even start. Pics of wet cars are also out, as again, it invariably looks out of place in the sig.

Also, we need a "theme". Not teaching anyone to suck eggs here, as we all know what it means, but nothing major, just something like a favourite hobby, football/rugby team, or just something you`re into (preferably not p*rn though ! :D)

And last but not least, some sort of colour-scheme always helps as well. For instance, if a sig is being required by one of the forum ladies, there`s a tendency to think that something like pink is the preference, but this is not necessarily the case.

I know this might sound a bit pedantic (only a sig after all, hardly life-and-death), but it just saves someone asking for a sig, only to find they get 20 questions from us Photoshoppers about what`s required, etc....plus, it saves us lot having to ask the questions as well, which is nice ! :p

So, in summary......... good pics, theme, colour scheme.

Thanks for reading. 8)

Mods: Any chance of making this a sticky at the top ?

Good points Dex, just one other point to add.......... Don't get upset or peed off if your siggi doesnt get done, chances are we have forgot.... we do this as a favor to people and receive nothing for it, we work like everyone else (Both Dex and Myself work long hours) and dont get to the PC everyday, so sometimes just a friendly nudge to us via a pm makes all the difference and is a polite kick up the ar5e :lol:;)
