"The transformation from Vectra to Insignia is incredible. From boring to Botticelli.
It also has elegance and class which I’ve never seen before in a Vauxhall.
It has road presence dripping with quality to match even the Germans.
At first glance it could easily be mistaken for an Audi with certain shades of a Jaguar XF and Mercedes CLS with a dramatically swooping roofline."

somebody provided some very interesting insight as to the transformation of the insignia.

GM owns vauxhall, along with saab and subaru. A few years ago now there was apparently a big shuffle round in the design staff.

And look at whats happened ? The dame edna saab, the horrible hatchback impreza and ... the best car vauxhall have ever built

You do the maths as to who went where.

as far as im aware the reshuffling took place before they cut their ties.

Hence why the current impreza (that would have been designed after GM left) is an absolute dog.

Could all just be speculation i suppose, but it makes some sense.
