Front end is out of the mould! The body is done and will be out of the mould tomorrow. Carbon fibre doors, bonnet and boot will follow shortly. The body and front end are being picked up by Scottie's transport services on Saturday for transportation to Webster Race engineering and the next step of the journey.
Also the plug was picked up by it's new owner who is going to post a pic of it being taken away from DRE's.
Lastly if you need any carbon/fibreglass panels made call Dale on 07979 215112.Leave a message if he doesn't answer. He is the best guy in the country for this stuff..

Sorry for the delay. An early start and late finish meant this old fella fell asleep on the chair..LOL
Anyhoo. We're finally moving on. The first set of pics are the bodyshell fresh out of the mould without any trimming. The main body mould itself is in 6 pieces, and the front end is 4 pieces.I will take a detailed pic of all the pieces shortly.

This is the body fresh out.

To this point it's a huge thanks to Wayne Allman of The Intergalactic custom shop,Geoff and Dean at G+D motor bodies,Dale at DRE glassfibre to get the body to this stage, and last but not least Scottie at Moving hot rods for ferrying the old girl safely about the country!
So now we're at the stage were it becomes a car again. This part of the job is entrusted to Jon Webster and the team at www.webster-race-engineering.co.uk
This is what he has to work with. The main thing is that he is happy with what he's seen(size and shape wise) and feels it'll be no problem upgrading the old car into the new body.
Looked at from this angle the car looks the same as it did. This is how we wanted it to be.This is at the ride height it'll be sitting at.

a munchkin sitting by it for height comparison.

    side and rear view..

    and front inside..

btw,the cameras are Dave and Helen from www.quartermilehigh.com . They are putting together a presentation DVD for the team as well as a little interview for the Pro Mod TV show.
There will be a lot more pics and work done now as WRE are more than one person.
    Thanks for looking!
    ANDY.

2 days in to the chassis build and Jon has already done this:thumbup:
First pic is the base tubes that everything is built off. We have to make provisions for everything inc exhausts, ground clearance for the street. This is just the front section before the 4 link and rear. Jon has figured out some trick side skirts which we'll show you at a later date.

We need to steer the car so it's on with the steering rack.

Visit Jon's website at www.webster-race-engineering.co.uk to see what work he does.

Photos for today. It would have got a lot further but for the non delivery of the tube needed to Jon's. Not in the picture are the double frame rails, four link etc.
Firstly an above view of the car with the fuel cell in position, and the turbos approx in position.
Notice all the front suspension is done.

Next up is the fuel cell and radiator behind it. Space is already getting tight.

    More next week.

This is probably the only update this week due to the chassis shop having to to do work on cars that will be racing this weekend at the FIA Main Event at Santa Pod Raceway.
The pic shows the pedal assembly and steering column/wheel. This is not fixed until i go up and get fitted into the car..
    Thanks for looking.

Jon is starting on the cage.We want it as unobtrusive as possible, particularly as the car is narrow to begin with.
The red line is the laser to centre everything.. Tim Mcamis race cars is making us the chrome moly axle case as we speak which will allow Jon to make the back of the chassis with all the shock mounts, anti roll bar mounts, wheelie bar mounts etc..

The first update of the week. As usual Jon is working over and sent me some pics:thumbup:
Until the axle case comes from Tim Mcamis race cars Jon can't do any of the back end of the car,and we still need the doors to put the front end on. Dale is working on them as we speak.
As you can see there's a few more tubes in place..

An overview of the chassis so far. There's still all of the rear tubing to be done along with a few tubes in the drivers section.
Once again thanks to Jon at www.webster-race-engineering.co.uk for his awesome work so far.

ok,today's update and the backhalf of the chassis is underway. I thought Jon was going to wait until i got the axle case but he just called Mcamis's and got the dimensions. Now why didn't i just do that..lol
also a few more tubes have been put into the middle section. Awesome work again from Jon...
