We've all heard of the dreaded M32 Gearbox scenario, twitching gear nobs, whining in gear, and selection issues to name a few. These issues are usually down to the service life of the gearbox bearings being quite low under certain conditions. We have repaired many gearboxes over the years from Porsche, VAG and the GM range so we have a huge wealth of knowledge.

Other gearbox re-builders may only offer a renewal of the bearing on the 6th gear, we have included this price as well as a full rebuild of the 6 main gearbox bearings. On a 6 bearing rebuild you can see what you will receive below...

- Gearbox removal (car in situ).
- Removal of top casing.
- Removal of all gear clusters.
- Clean swarf from the differential case magnet & gearbox case magnet.
- Complete disassembly of gear clusters to allow for a more detailed inspection (of individual components).
- Clean all swarf from baulk rings and inspect (advise if repair needed).
- Clean all swarf from syncro rings and inspect (advise if repair needed).
- Clean all swarf from gear cogs and inspect (advise if repair needed).
- Clean entire gearbox casing and differential casing.
- Reconstruct gearbox components along with new bearings (bulk rings / syncro rings / gears inspected and customer advised if repair needed).
- Reinstallation if car in situ, delivery is extra (please ask).

Whilst the gearbox is apart it is essential to remove all swarf and inspect the inner workings. You would perform an engine flush to remove engine deposits, however how would you perform this on a Gearbox? Yes, you can change the oil but there is no way of removing the swarf from inside the gear clusters without the above process.
