    Default Vxr8 gts 2012

    Hi Guys,

Well the day is getting closer where I am going to have to make a decision on swapping the:

Astra J VXR 2013 Arden Blue, Fully Loaded 11K Miles
    My actual car

    with a

VXR8 GTS 2012 Heron White, Biomodal Exhaust System 25K Miles
    Example

The VXR8 GTS is arriving at the dealers within the next 8 weeks so now's the time to start taking it seriously so I'm prepared when I take it out for a test drive.

What do you guys think? Pro's and Con's

(Don't mention fuel/tax as I know thats obviously going to cost me more)

Im planning a road trip in September this year to the black forest in Germany and reckon the GTS would be a nice car to take the trip in, do you?

What do you think I should look out for when test driving the VXR8 GTS? what will I miss with the Astra VXR ?

    Thanks
    Gav

2 totally different cars but both good looking ones.

The GTS will surprise you, the drive is good, the power is also good, the mpg on Mways will be better than the Astra J upto around 90 mph.

Have you had an insurance quote yet, the GTS is a group 50 car but regardless of any costs these are a great car for the money.

V8, not for everyone but 10/10 for your effort.

If we're not allowed to mention fuel or tax, than it is all pros

When driving the GTS look out for front suspension clunks, and disc wear (discs aren't cheap). Ad check out your big cheesy grin in the rear view mirror too.

    Hi badboyburt

Thanks for the reply, I was running a 2010 M3 last year so Im used to paying a heavy insurance premium so that doesn't bother me too much.

Great to know about the MPG, should be better on the trip to Germany then.

Big lazy engine, on cruise at 80mph you will see 26-28mpg easily, push the fun pedal and it will drop obviously but with a 73 litre tank it wont run out as quick as the J, its the size of the tank that scares a lot of people.

Perfect for the trip to Germany then, some nice MPG travelling down to the Black Forest and then some fun when I get there where the cost of fuel will be worth it for the grin factor.

The current owner has ordered the new VXR8 GTS and won't be arriving until August where he will trade in his current GTS for the new one.
