You say that, but I've paid twice that for the latest Dunlop's which are highly rated and they are crap in the wet, lose traction so easily. I was going to buy the Vorti's but they were dearer. I will go to cheap brands next time, if I have still have the car.

They're cheap for a reason. Remember the only thing keeping you on the road no matter what you drive are your tyres ....

Have you ever used the tyres I use? Or is this just another brand snobbery response?

Had f1 as3’s on my old mapped PD150 Leon, they were very good I admit. However, for the driving I do and I don’t hang about all the time the LS588’s have been fantastic on both cars I’ve had them on.

Sometimes tyres come good and get recognised and the prices go up, I recall when hankooks used to be untrusted budgets now they're seen as a good tyre. So its not impossible.

Time will tell I guess, but for the money and my experience of them I won’t be buying anything else. Conti sport contact used to be my favourite tyres but they’re stupid money.

I don't really rate contis, best tyre for price I've seen so far is the vortis.
