Default Uprated shock absorbers or OEM?

Noticed recently that my ride quality has become somewhat incredibly bumpy and harsh so jacked the car up to find that all four shock absorbers are leaking. Car is at 84000 miles and is currently on Apex 40mm lowering springs and is fully polybushed. Is it worth replacing them with OE dampers or uprating them? Also, is this a case of the dampers simply needing renewed or the combination of springs and bushes have proven too much for the OE setup? Or perhaps a combination of both?

    Cheers

Apex are an awful spring IME. Get rid of them and some new shocks.

Bilstein B8's and some nice springs to match would be a good option.

Thanks. Do you recommend any good springs?

Weitec, eibach, or H&R seem to be the choice.

Or if your on a budget and are fussy about height, the Vmaxx coilovers may be an option for you? They're probably the best entry set of coilovers, I wouldn't buy any cheaper than that.

Depends what your intentions with the car are.

Having had two Corsa vxr in the past and had fitted Eibach sport lines to both I think if I had my time again I would chose DAP springs from Courtenay sport

I've recently fitted bilstein b14 coilovers and they are brilliant in my opinion.
I was gonna go with spax rsx coilovers put I'm glad I went for the bilsteins

I just got eibach sportline springs on stock shocks. Its slightly better than stock springs but still way to hard (Handling has improved a lot)

I'm now currently looking for the prefect shock to match the sportline spring so if anyone can recommend im sure it will help both of us.

My two choices are Koni Street or Sport and Bilstein b8?

    Cheers

If your going to replace springs and dampers you might aswell go for coilovers, b12-b14

B12 aren't coilovers they are th b8 damper with sport line springs in a kit

I had the b14 coilovers on my Astra and tbh I think dampers and springs would have been the better option for comfort
