Default Ignition Cut - Cobra Exhaust

I'm sorry if this has already been discussed but I can't find the answer specific to my question.

I currently have a 3" turbo back exhaust with 200 cell sports car and 1 resonated section. I understand that ignition cut will destroy the cat, but if I decat will ignition cut destroy the resonated section??

Also does ignition cut damage the engine?

Thank you for any sensible answers, sarcasm welcome

I'd say one box is better, and it can damage the engine if abused, I see a corsa with a valve that had come off and put a hole in a forged piston and ****** the engine

What do you mean "1 box"?

So if used with some common sense every now and then it should be ok?
