    I used the green cotton panel filter and 600 miles later, I got the MAF issue.

    could have been coincidence but at 10.5 miles on the clock, seems a little low to go faulty - just for my own peace of mind - I changed back to normal.

    Ive got a corsa vxr burg, i have changed anything. im thinking of getting a pipercross cone filter. even though my car us un modded, will it still make louser whooshes and flutter ect and make a louder 'pssttt' noise when you push down the clutch??

    Yes will make a whoosh noise when you take foot off accelartor

    Dont use an oiled filter as it causes airflow meter problems. AEM dryflow is good.
    I've heard that oiled ones cause problems it's just what brand to get now
    "Most" if not all filters now come pre-oiled & the problems concerning the oil is usually down to over oiling the filter. I've had both the K&N & now the Pipercross. Never had any problems.

    If it is really a concern to you though you could always buy say Pipercross & wash it. Leave it to dry out & then put in the car.

    Although I would say Pipercross filters are good, I'm switching to the Green cone filter just because the colour matches my car and I want a cone filter.
