    Default Baillie89's Progress Thread

    So I've now owned my first VXR a whole year and needless to say I'm absolutely loving it... Made a few threads and found a tonne of helpful info on here so figured it's about time I started my own progress thread!

    Current changes;
    Heko wind deflectors
    VXR front grille badge
    Gel resin reg plates with holders
    Private reg
    Center arm rest
    AEM cone filter
    Remus 3 piece exhaust - Now changed to 3" Cobra turbo back exhaust with sports cat
    Custom, bi-xenon headlight retrofit
    LED number plate housings
    Debadged boot
    White & red SMD conversion
    LED boot, welcome and reading lights
    VXROnline stickers
    Black plasti dipped indicator surrounds
    Red plasti dipped engine trim (dip stick, screen wash cap etc...)
    Rear windows tinted 20%
    Nürburgring splitter
    OPC fog surrounds
    17" Black Fox FX 004 alloys with yellow accents
    Eonon GA5156F double din head unit
    Uprated engine injectors
    Yellow painted brake calipers
    Red light up door sills
    Cobra 200-cell sports cat and decat downpipe
    Polished Enhance Performance air intake pipe
    Airtec intercooler (black with red logo and hoses)
    Forge recirc valve
    Stage 2 remap (230BHP, 215 ft-lbs)

    Changes to come;
    Drilled & dimpled discs
    Braided brake lines
    Silicone hoses
    Cool running thermostat

    When I bought the car I hadn't test driven it, or ever driven/been in any VXR for that matter... The dealership had to have the car transported from somewhere in England to Scotland after I found it on their website... Turns out it was one of the last D VXRs before the E came out- So I bought it completely blind but it's been a car I've always loved the look of and knew I'd be happy with it.

    Here she is from the dealer's website at the time;

    I started off making the smaller changes;
    Heko wind deflectors
    VXR front grille badge
    Private reg
    Center arm rest
    LED DRLs & 6000k HIDs (have since been upgraded again.... see below!)
    LED number plate housings
    LED boot, welcome and reading lights

    I then started toying with the idea of spray painting parts of the car but wasn't brave enough to try it in case I messed something up.... So I bought some plasti dip to play around with and done a few bits in the engine bay and the silver trim on the indicator surrounds;

    I've yet to get some smoked side repeaters... think it'd look better with those!

    How she looked;

    Fast forward to this year and February has been a very exciting month...
    I've had a custom headlight retrofit done with bi-xenon projectors, LED DRL and indicator strips, colour coded and a light up VXR logo... By far the best thing I've done to the car- the light output is just incredible!

    Debadged the boot after getting the courage up to try it... Worked out perfectly;

    The following day I had an SMD conversion done by Stampede- what a difference;

    This is my first owned car and when I bought it I told myself I'd leave it as is...... but you lot of infectious and influential people made me see sense

    Thanks to everyone who's helped me along the way!
