Default Hybrid turbo and mapping advice?

    First post...

I've recently bought an 07 Astra VXR (57k on the clock) which has had a K04 hybrid turbo from AET fitted by one of its previous owners. The owner before me has told me he hasn't done any work to the car and doesn't know if it has been mapped or not. (All I have is a receipt for the turbo).

I'm enjoying the car but I've owned a standard Astra VXR in the past and my new VXR with the hybrid turbo seems very sluggish and laggy low down in the revs unlike the standard VXR but then the power is there higher up in the revs. It feels terrible to drive as the turbo lag and lack of torque low down is very frustrating. My question is will getting the car mapped to the new hybrid turbo improve this and can anyone recommend anywhere/anyone in the west midlands for a good custom map? (I don't mind travelling within reason).

Also how much should I be looking to pay (roughly) for a decent map?

    Thanks in advance.

A hybrid will be laggier than standard turbo and the power will be pushed further up the revs than it would be with a ko4 but the mapping could be making the car feel more sluggish than it should be especially if car hasnt been mapped for the hybrid.

With mapping i would personally recommend rabbid but there are others who are recommended on here like courts, sm tuning, rnd or rs tuning who all have good reputations, with regards to price expect to pay anywhere between £350-550 depending on where you go for a proper custom map from a vxr specialist, you could go elsewhere that isnt a vxr specialist but from personal experience i wouldnt recommend that to anybody
Rabbid Tuned Stage 4.5 - 355bhp - TD S3 Hybrid, AET ported exhaust manifold, TS 10psi actuator, TS recirc valve, Full 3" Piper decat non-res exhaust, Forge intercooler, AEM dual nozzle WMI kit, cdti hose with AEM cone, Regal cams, Klasen inlet manifold, Piper single valve springs, Percy retainers, PEC i-beam rods+ARP bolts, Skimmed Head, Protec 340lph fuel pump, Siemens 630cc injectors, AP front big brake kit, Vectra VXR rear brake conversion

A ko4h shouldnt be like that, check for a revised inlet manifold .... also check condition of actuator

But yes after a full checkover, proper mapping would be best
