I've never noticed any issue with the handbrake or anything before. I do always leave it gear though so I don't think it's ever crossed my mind to check whether it's rolled forward or not.

Update: that link above states start build date 2009. Mines a 57 plate. I reckon they'll check it and say it isn't required... *sigh*
Mines a 58 plate and I had handbrake issues so you never know. Leaving it in gear is a fail safe in case the handbrake fails but most people these days are taught to leave it in neutral so I guess its aimed to protect these people.

Took my 61 plate in last week for a mot and was told by the service manager that they had changed a spring in the handbrake as a recall.

Deffo get it done. I was at Snetterton on a track day once and an old member of here was with us in his corsa. We were all having a chin wag in the garages when I saw his car rolling back out the garage, there was me thinking he was off out for a few more laps when I turned and saw the owner stood there... his car rolled out across the pit lane and hit the pit wall 😩

Wasn't too much damage a few cracks to some trim and a front respray needed but could have been much worse if a car had been coming down the pit lane!

Had mine done a couple of weeks ago while it was in having the Heater Fan replaced behind the Glovebox.

Button is definitely firmer to push in to release but did not worry me too much before as always have left it in Gear while parked.
