    Default Blowing

    Has any one had to change rear manifold or cat. seems I've got a blow somewhere back there still trying to find it ,and to hot too shove your hand to feel for any leaks.

    I had one of the nuts fall off of the manifold joint causing quite a blow, ended up popping shake proof washers on there as it happened a couple of times

    What a pain, I posted this then saw V6spike had the same problem turned out its the rear pipe from manifold to turbo which should be here next week ,just want some warmer weather to strip the rest of her down and refit.

    Really peed off striping down to replace pipe ,last nut to take off heat shield rounded off. What the f..k do I do now .
    Can't get cat out for heat shield ,not enough room to fart let alone get molars on it !!!!

    I'm not familiar with the nut you're talking about, but can you get a socket on it?
    If so get some if these. Always work.

    Looked on line and got some but doubt they will work as its now well chewed....so file or hammer and chisel .......

    As you turn the socket, the spiral 'bites' into the head or shaft...as long as you choose the appropriate size it'll work.

    It's 10mm and I've tried mite off took to much of the head for it to work but I'll have to wait for it to arrive to try.

    Even if the head has gone it'll still work. I've used them countless times on rusted tight, chewed up bolts on a rusty old jeep and haven't failed me yet. I was sceptical at first as to if these things work but they do and a bolt on a heat shield won't be as tight as caliber bolts or suspension bolts ect
