    Default Few questions regarding A28

Hi guys, some of you may or may not know, i am currently putting an A28NET engine into my VX220.

I am planning on fitting a 20T hybrid turbo.
3" decat exhaust with backbox bypass butterfly valve
full charge cooler system due to space and rear mounting
and is bolted to a Vectra VXR gearbox.
Obviously due to being fitted to a VX220 the air con and power steering have been removed and will have custom brackets with idler pulleys for the auxiliary belt.

What injectors would be best to get around the 400 mark? Also what toque figures am i likely to see around the 400 mark?

My main aim is i want to hit the 400 mark if not more. When will i likely need to start looking into rods etc?

    cheers

    Al

So what would you think the max i will be able to get out of the turbo? Also to get 500+ are you doing internals?

I'm hoping that 10-11" rear wheels along with the mid engine configuration will help put the power down if not... well then i don't know lower power?... lol

i plan to remove the dual mass flywheel and replace with a solid lightweight and paddle clutch, ecu wise i will be running it with an AEM Infinity 708 (£2100). i do have it bolted in at the minute, just had it out to clean and paint to make it look like new before starting wiring. I have mocked up some driveshafts which ill be sending off to be made and have finished the exhaust. heres a few pics, ones of the engine in the car are old as haven't got any recent ones. Exhaust downpipes is fully finished and just need to fully weld up the back box and decat pipe. will be making a cat section later on down the line. also if back box sizes turn out to be too small and the exhaust is too loud i can increase by almost double the length.

Looking good i wouldn't think you would get much more over 400 with that turbo im running a gt35 for the internals thay have been rated to about 5/600 but its not been tryed as of yet as far as i know but we will see with my build. For the dm flywheel i looked into going solid and was put off buy it spoken to a few people who had done it in the vectra and to be fair you would have more problems with a solid one dont forget that the cranks are different from the vectra too so you would have to get a one-off flywheel make witch is hard to fid trust me ive been down this route.

yeh i've read yours. i had considered going for a bigger turbo but don't think id ever get set off lol. i haven't bought a flywheel yet so may well stick with a dm if its better?... what diameter of pipe did you use to make your manifolds?

Just read through that i think i'll stick with the dm flywheel as well tbh I'm hoping the car will come in under 1000kg and planning a long euro trip for when its done so want it to be as smooth a drive as possible

Lol manifolds are 1.25" and link pipe is 1.5" i would run a gt30 in your or somthing around that size or even 2 gt28 stay with the dm flywheel much easier to deal with
