Was just reading January edition of Autocar in the tea shack, offshore and read about this brutal news. I'll get the rest of you discuss over this. Just wanted to highlight it and make you aware. It will no doubt be old news for some.
If you read the last paragraph of the bottom photograph, it hints at a positive outcome for owners in Oz. Not sure how we will suffer in the UK for parts. I know there are Pontiac variations of this car in US and thousands of parts out there already so shouldn't be bad.
Anyway, it sounds like the Australian car market is goosed and as a result, they're about to replace our beloved cars with a V6 car based on the insignia, which I already knew and vomited over (the V8 supercar league in Oz also been changed for a future with V6 engines I believe). I owned the Insignia VXR before my VXR8 and it's not even half the car. That will surely help the Commodore/ VXR8 get its place in history. Especially since they're gona be the very last of the massive V8's to be produced.
I see no reason why these cars shouldn't go up in value, if kept in a mint condition. At least, the really low milage ones which some of you have and especially the Bathurst.
