Hi just done a engine rebuild with used RRS forged pistons and conrods from Regal autosport
Had them checked over by 2 different mechanics, say they are in good condition
Pistons - http://www.regalautosport.com/shop/R...iston_Set.html
Conrods - http://www.regalautosport.com/shop/R...rsa_D_VXR.html
(These pistons were known to hit the oil jets within the engine so I bend the oil jets to clear the pistons)
Reason for rebuild, car suffered bottom end damaged - metal went round the entire engine
- Got a different bottom end
- Used original top end that was involved with metal damage but sent off to be reconditioned - skimmed head
- All new shells
- New water/oil pump, new oil cooler
- Using Shell helix 5-30 oil
- Compression tested all 4 cylinders - say 200
Car sounds very noisey like a diesel/tractor
Can anyone shed some light as to why it sound this noisey?
Was told a forge build is noiser than standard pistons but this sounds a lot noiser than it should

https://vid.me/NWMT Warmed up/revved
The noise that irritates me the most is when the car is revved/accelerated
Anyone able to diagnose?
Been told it's top-end camshaft noise
Car drives fine... just noisey!
