I used the hammerite aerosol one purchased from screwfix about £4 a tin, you'll prob need 3. Preparation is key, also make sure you keep the tip where it sprays out clean as it does build up on the can

A good wash, then get any loose rust off (youll have loads on rear axle) i used a wire brush. The more time you spend getting a clean solid surface the better it will look. You don't want to start spraying then a flake of rust drops off

Yeah I recently hammerited my wheel knuckles. One was badly corroded. Got the drill with wire brush on it. Then full black covering.

The Astra h vxr does not rust underneath what does rust are the chassis components - my h is approaching 9 years old with no signs of rust anywhere - regular underneath hosing is a must to stop dirt build up, I may be in the minority but this is my view

I'd seal all the components too.

Completely agree. My rear beam was perfect and just had some surface dirt. The legs of the beam had some very light corrosion but nothing to be concerned about.

Underneath she was perfect, with only spots of rust on things like the studs for the heatshields, same as the front subframe. Either way, she's undersealed now but it won't stop me giving the undercarriage a good clean everytime I wash her.

Nope. After. Centre of the beam & spare wheel tub were sealed in Dynax UC.
