Mine was Stage 3 and was 306

It only dropped to 297 when I had the inlet installed and it couldn't run as higher boost as was getting valve float higher in the Rev range.

That said 3 bhp is a fart and the car doesn't feel slower. Also you are talking peak power. The gains that I got from the inlet and improved overall power band more than make up for that

    I made 302bhp with a Remus

Good power will follow with a healthy car and the RIGHT mods, you don’t need to spend loads on mods just pick the right ones.

As these cars get older turbos, actuators and general vehicle health is unfortunately declining, if you have a healthy car with a strong standard turbo with decent intercooler, exhaust and induction kit then you should make over 300bhp

ohhh yh c thats sound 302 im happy with that even 300.2 and im happy lol so would i also need a new actuator if i was to get airtec intercooler 3" exhaust induction kit and healthy turbo?

i mean Chris youve seen my engine and had a butchers is that a healthy engine? i mean it hasnt skipped a beat in the 3 yrs ive owned it and its on 77200 miles.
and would i need a new induction kit or is what ive got ok to keep on there?

I always wanted to go Stage 3.5 and add the inlet. I thought I'd be getting about 315 peak power. It was all running fine at Stage 3 but as soon as you add the inlet and chuck another 500 rpm to the mix if your actuator holds too much boost you just end up with valve float.

People seem to think that I should be bothered that it didn't do over 300 but I couldn't care less. The power band is awesome tbf

That's why they say upgrade valve springs. Even if you did springs you'd then be stressing the standard turbo too much so would eventually need a hybrid to get reliable plus 300 power.

you'd never notice the difference of 3bhp. it's all about the map. all you need to do is allow the car to breathe and you'll make 300bhp.

If a stage 3/3.5 car isn't enough your looking at a bug jump up in cost to go for the next level.

go stage 3 and work on handling mods if you haven't already, rarb, coilovers etc. then look at a diff.

stage 3 astra with rarb, decent suspension and a diff is a very capable car

Just stick with a standard K04 and enjoy the car for what it's worth.
