    Default Total newbie alert

    Hi there,

Ok so we’ve bought a corsa vxr. Finally.
We’re new to mods and all that we know what we want it to look like and the different mods that we want but we haven’t a clue where to start or how you go about it.
We want to start with the little things first so we can build up to buying the bigger mods.

Has anyone got any ideas on what we can do to make this vxr our own.

One thing I do want to ask. Will any of the touchscreen radios replace the standard one or is there specific ones?

Any ideas welcome! And be nice. 👍🏻

Everyone will have thier own opinion on where to start, from daft light bulbs to stuff that will improve reliability and performance.

    If it were me, without going overboard;

    1. Service it properly with good plugs, all filters, oil and gearbox oil - will help protect your gearbox and ensure you get decent (!) mpg.
    2. Buy a good set of lowering springs, e.g Eibach or similar - will improve handling and looks and you can add Bilstein shocks later to effectively get the 'burg setup.
    3. Replace ALL coolant hoses with silicone and fit a low temp thermostat - will reduce temps in traffic, avoid leaks and look nice.
    4. Buy stainless exhaust - will improve performance slightly, not rust and sound nice.
    5. Buy intercooler - will support remapping
    6. Have it remapped with larger injectors - will take you to 230ish bhp
    7. Buy Bilstein shocks.

Then leave it at that as you'll have enough to pay keeping it maintained, fuelled etc

Thanks for your help. It’s a starting point. Already done the bulbs. The yellow ones just didn’t go.

Any ideas are welcome. Thank you.

+1, this is a pretty safe formula and you'll have a fun little motor without going mad and spending daft money

And if you're talking little little things; Team Heko wind deflectors and some de-badging won't go amiss either.
