    Default AFL adjustment for Europe

Hi all, hoping someone can help.

Iíve moved to France, taken the car with me, my alloys are in a right mess with the high curbs and thin roads, gonna cost me a fortune to get them sorted out.

Before I go to an Opel dealership and get ripped off, is there a way to adjust the AFL system so the beam is the right way for driving in Europe?

    Thanks in advance.

Not sure if it works in the J but in the H, if you have AFL..

    1. Pull and hold stalk for main beam on steering wheel (with ignition off)
    2. Switch ignition on
    3. After approx. 3-4 seconds an acoustic signal will sound and the AFL control indicator will flash for 4 seconds

process complete.. to turn back just repeat..

as I said maybe different for the J tho :/

Hi, just tried it nothing happened. Found this on the Vauxhallís manual, says the same, canít work out why it isnít working? Any thoughts? Iím sure I have AFL as I have the lights washers and the lights do a bit of a moving routine when I start it up.

Sounds like you do have AFL if you have the washers and the beam moves when the headlights come on.

I just tried this on mine and it does work. Here is what I did exactly:

    1. Key in ignition and key to position 1.
    2. Pull lever and hold (headlight will flash).
    3. Keep holding and turn on ignition.
    4. You'll get the usual startup process where the main display says "checking" and then shortly after most of the warning lights go out.
    5. Keep the lever pulled until you get the audible sound and the AFL dash light flash 4 times. Do not release until you get the audible sound.

System is now configured for Europe. To verify, switch all off then switch ignition back on. About 5 seconds later you'll get the flashing AFL light to indicate this mode is still enabled.

If you want to disable the feature you repeat the above steps but you do not get the audible sound or flashing light so it's just a case of waiting for about the same amount of time and then releasing the lever. The dash light will no longer flash on startup.

    Hope this helps.

Looks like that worked, I didnít get the beep, but get the flashing icon now I start the engine, thanks for your help. I think you need to disable auto light when you do this as well.
