    Default Control Arms

Does anyone know which part of the control arm fails when the knocking occurs?

Nothing is knocking at the moment.
I'm just thinking that if I put some coilovers on, whilst the wheel is off and since the geometry will need setting up anyway, I might as well replace the track rod ends and the control arms since the car is over 10 years old now.
Then I thought if I could upgrade the bits that knock on the new control arms i'd be set for another 10 years at least

If you fitting coilovers may aswell fit new lower arms and drop links.

Ive fitted super pro adjustable droplinks all round great bits of kit. Louise at mwperformance can sort you out with all you need.

V8, not for everyone but 10/10 for your effort.

Didn't consider the drop links. I'm not after a track car with infinite tunability so may give the adjustable ones a miss, but will look into getting some new ones none-the-less.

Definitely worth checking the top mounts too - this was the main cause of my knocking noises. Much cheaper than control arms too.

Top mounts were the usual issue for me too. Found the pedders ones lasted longer than oem and were v similar price from Monkfish at the time.

Monty - I still have a pair of new front droplinks. Non OEM - bought off ebay. Never fitted them. If you are interested let me know.
