Unhappy Insignia vxr 59 plate knocking noise!?

    Hi guys

Iím new here have owned my siggy for about 5 months now and I love it!
But here comes the first problem lmao

Thereís a knocking noise coming from the front, sounds to me like a broken spring but Iíve had it looked at and the springs and mounts are intact.
The guy at the garage mentioned something to do with the drivetrain? But Iím not mechanically minded and could do with some advice as to what it might be?

    Thanks in advance!

Could be several things... A worn bushing, a driveshaft, the flywheel. Very hard to say from your description.

    Don't go into car parks!

Sounds like it might be the dual mass flywheel (DMF) which is part of the clutch assembly. The DMF has rotationally mounted springs to damp the torque on take off. If the spring/springs break, the DMF and clutch still works, but you can get a rattle on tickover. Plus the clutch biting point can be a little bit jerky to engage.

Haha I thought about doing that aj 😂 Iíve tried to upload a video but as im using my phone itís being a pain,
Itís worse in reverse than forward and much worse when the steering is fully locked and then as I turn the wheels back it does it again

Hmmm...Is it just a noise; or does the car crab and judder when on full-lock slow turns?

Could also be worn brake pads. That has come up before.
