    Default Thermostat for z28net

    Hi guys, new here.

Got myself a VXR special, ex police, 08 with 105k.

She's struggling to get upto temp unless sat still and will sit at 75° at 60mph on the motorway so pretty certain the thermostat is stuck open.

Vauxhall want 70 something quid for one, which is fair enough, but I had a look around and found courtenay do cool running stats for most models except the Z28net.

Anyone aware of anywhere that does stock or supply cool running stats for the Z28net, as I would obviously prefer to keep her from running hot which I have read can be an issue with these when used hard?

    Thanks in advance,

    Josh.

    Thanks for the response.

Not sure if I'm being an idiot but I can find the part, just can't see anyway of selecting it and ordering it... Seems like it's a catalogue of all the parts, not actually selling them....

    Thanks again

    Maybe coolant temp sensor?

    http://www.vxronline.co.uk/forum/sho...-z28net-engine

    Doesn’t show with vin...

    But guessing no. 5 ?

Nope no. 13 I was thinking just the stat but whole housing.

Yep only comes as a full housing complete with stat, so Yeh no.13....

Have found vauxhall-car-parts.co.uk who can send me one for £58.50 Inc postage. This is for a GM part rather than cool running, but cheaper than the stealers.

    Thanks for the responses.

Edit: pretty sure it'd the stat rather than sensor, I have had identical symptoms with previous cars. Coincidentally replacing the stat was the first job I did on my last car aswell.

had the exact same thing happen to my Insignia....full housing change and all because the rubber sealing ring was reacting to something in the cooling system....dealer suspects an additive was used at some point.
Changed under warranty in my case.
    £58 is a great price.dealer price is about £200
