Default Which side are you on - GSI or VXR?

I grew up around the 90ís when Vauxhallís premium sporting line was GSI. Since then, Vauxhall ha e migrated over to VXR. Ford did something similar when they binned their XR brand in Europe in favour of ST.

So, whatís peopleís thoughts on this? Ultimately VXRís are modern day GSIís, but do you like the VXR branding, or do you miss the old GSI brand? Iím nostalgic, so Iím saying that I preferred the GSI brand name.

Both have never really brought up a proper sought after dynasty like the Ford RS badge.

The vxr thing could've really become something for vx if they hadn't let it peter out and get lost in its competition. But obvs the board didn't fancy putting the money into trying to keep competing with the rest. Shame really.

And with psa now owning it we can kiss goodbye to a proper vx performance line.

I know what you mean mate, and itís a shame weíll never see a true rival for the Ford RS badge. At least Ford put their ST badge a notch below their true premier marque. Vauxhall has just got lost in it all.

I must say that I like the OPC branding on the continent. Obviously we canít move over to that due to obvious reasons.

The first gen vxr brand really had a place of serious competition in 05/06 upto 2010. Had its own brochure with a performance model for the majority of their line each with compete rive figures to their rivals. This was the time I first got drawn to it. I'd always liked astras though ever since the mk3 we had.

These days the Germans superpowers have really put down an unmatchable marker with their performance line. You got ford hanging onto the coat tails with the mk3 rs but aside from that German marques rule the roost.

gotta agree with this - even the RS as good as it is can’t match the germans, when youv got a45s and RS3s putting out 400brake standard it’s scary thinking where these 2 will be in a few years time, reckon we’ll see an rs3 pushing 500/600 standard in the not too near future

Least Honda are keeping that line with a competitive model.

    Well handling wise anyway.
