    I re-used the bolts. Just gave them a quick wire brush before taking them off. 16NM for the bell bolts

    I have just received my new front discs from mtec.
    Looking at the brake calipers the bolts that hold them on seem to be of a torque fitting?
    Can anyone on here confirm that a normal hexagon socket will loosen the bolt or do I need a torque spanner/socket.
    Hope to change them very soon as the wheel wobble when braking is so bad .
    I cannot believe that I have needed to change the discs at 33000mls.
    I have never driven the car hard or braked very suddenly.
    What I find very strange is the fact when I checked for disc run out with a dial test indicator the measurement is less than .002 total reading.
    One other strange thing is, when I put all the brake pads back in after this diagnosis the brake judder is fine for about a day, then it comes back with a vengeance!
    Overall, the problem links this to warped discs but the DTI tells me different.
    Totally weird!

    I am looking for the mtec rotors too.
    Warren is offering a disc for the rear in the same J hook style, so i will order a pair for the front snd rear.

    hi had same problem if you leave your foot on the brake after braking sitting at traffic lights you get a pad imprints on brake discs.
    all you need to do is give discs a good rub down with emery paper job done

    I bought the groved discs from Mtec last year, was £300 per disc. I had to re-drill the holes for the bell bolts as they were too small, they forgot to allow for the shim at the top of the bolt, guess yours were ok? They must realized the mistake and sorted it for future discs. I got the pads from Courtney Sports, HP2000, £150
