    Default Cleaning/maintaining steering wheel

Wje i bought my vxr, it had a lovely matt finish to the steering wheel but i noticed a sort of black thing stained my hands. It was what the trade seller used to clean it which i dont mind since i liked the finish.

I asked him what he used so i could buy it and use it myself and he said he used a silicone spray.

I searched everywhere and could not find this spray.

So i asked some ppl/car group on facebook what to use ti clean car steering wheel and they suggetsed:

Autoglym car leather cleaner then to protect the steering wheel leather:
    Autoglym leather care balm

Which i have found had left the steering spwheel looking shiny which is not what i wanted and doesnt particlary look cleaner or restored.

Whatever the bloody trade seller used i cannot find and wish i could as the finish he got out of cleaning the steering wheel was really nice.

    Comments will be appreicted!

    matt finish dash cleaner.
    old fashioned leather saddle soap
    avoid any polish
silicon spray will lift the dirt but isnt ideal for leather and id say wasnt what was used as it leaves a shine finish and wouldnt cause staining.
maybe it was something like matt black bumper cream

Thanks for the replu, much apprecieated but nithing youve mentioned is for cleaning a leather steering wheel and also leaving that retorative matt finish as if the steering wheel was brand new or not used much.

You see the oil and sweat from hands and general physcial contact leaves the steering wheel with that horrible shine and also wear and tear.

Im looking for a way not only to clean the wheel but to restore it to that original nice matt finish...

Nope! never heard of it until now. Surely it can't be better than purpose made car leather cleaners like th eones i have mentioned above? Is that what you use? What kind of finish does it leave?
