    Default Esp

My ESP light came on for about two seconds today resulting in a momentary loss of power steering. The light went out and the EPS returned to normal.

Itís the first time itís done this in the four years Iíve owned the car, 56 plate just on 75k.

Does anyone know if this is the start of the torque angle sensor failing or could it just be a glitch?

If it does fail Iíll probably have a crack at replacing the column myself.

Are there any how to guides from those who might have done it before?

    Cheers

    Phil

If the ESP light has been on, it'll have a code stored.

Get to Vauxhall and ask about the Meriva ESP failure. It should come under Vauxhalls criteria to replace it FOC.
They'll need to read your codes and contact Vauxhall Customer Services.

IIRC if it's under 12 years old and under 100k they'll look at it.

No codes stored Keif. I have a portable reader and checked it when I got to work. Double checked with peddle test ☹️

May have just thrown a wobbly then, as it turned itself off.
Mine cam on and the steering went heavy. I cleared the code as I expected it to happen again. Went to Vauxhall and without the code they can't do anything.

It was only for about two seconds then the power came back and the light went out so fingers crossed itís just a wobble.

Iíve found a guide to removal and refit anyway should I end up having to get it rebuilt. Itíd be all I need at the mo!
