Default Thermal Intake Manifold Gasket / Manifold Insulator

More interesting thing came up from my research lately.

Once again another gem form Australia (we made the engine after all.....). This time on the intake manifold side.

For the record i've always run my cars with a thermal gasket/insulator of some sort between the engine block and intake manifold, it's a 5hp $60 AUD mod for the MK7 accord I have. They've always had results, especially given than Australia is a warm place.

So I found it interesting that nothing was available in the A28NET/NER.

Then I did a search using other engine codes for our car, the GM one: LP9, then HFV6 (high-feature V6).

    BINGO. This came up:

MANIFOLD INSULATOR FOR SAAB, ALFA ROMEO, PONTIAC, OPEL, BUICK, ACADIA & CHEV HIGH FEATURE V6

$65 GBP for the 12mm version with extended manifold studs.

Yep, we make a thermal gasket for the A28NET/NER.

Granted it's a lot more expansive than the teflon gaskets I've used in the past but this came with new extended bolts, which is what most of the price increase went into.

It's the next thing on my mod list, again another thing around heat management (like my RSS downpipe which is getting Techline thermal coated as we speak)

    Update:

Contacted the supplier, although the engine is the same as a Saab, they've never fitted it to an Insigia VXR before.

Since their factory is in Melbourne, i'll take my siggy there for live fitting and (perhaps photos) some time in Late May/early June.
