I would be the same prefer something that's a better quality there is always better, if oil is oil is it not the same for petrol I would never run supermarket fuel over v power so surely it would be the same for oil etc

not 100 percent but think I can remember someone saying that the 0w and 5w can seap past seals in turbo ?

Nope it will be fine, ran 0w40 for 7yrs or so in mine, never smoked - seeping past the seals happened when people fitted an exhaust with less backpressure and didn't fit the oil restrictor or have the newer turbo which had a more restrictive opening from the factory.
A 0w or 5w will flow better than a 10w under a cold start - where most of the damage/wear occurs apparently.
A 0w40, 5w40 or 10w40 will all perform the same at operating temperature as that's the higher temp figure (the 40)
Not really. The additives in higher quality fuels boost the octane rating thus making it more explosive.
All oil at the dexos2 rating (such as the Gm oil) will perform exactly as the car needs it to.
As I said, don't be taken in by the child like mindset of "the best". It doesn't exist. It's all subject to opinion anyway.
