Default Leather repair kits. Any good?

So my recently acquired heated leathers have a patch of wear on the bolster like a lot do. Obviously a retrim would be the most ideal but probably the most costly .....

This is the only thing I miss about my old half leathers, I kept them mint.

So I'm looking at leather repair kits. A few quid off fleabay. But can they really restore fade like below?

Maybe a long shot but anyone ever tried one? And will it totally repair the wear in the above pic?

You tried the usual stuff like Gliptone on it yet Ads?

You would be surprised how good it can bring things up

The actual leather surface has worn away though as you can see. Would it build up that surface again and allow a colour match?

I,ve used Gliptone in the past on a MX5, with a scuff worse than that. It works !!!! You can either send them a sample of the leather, or just get the particular colour needed. this comes with mixing shades to match your existing leather. This is what I did. Good piece of kit, well worth it !!

It's generally good for cleaning seats/leather but it's worth buying it trying it as you might be surprised as it might bring it up to an acceptable level

Just put in a search for gliptone . that should bring the web site up. Look for repair section. Basically it,s a coloured dye/paint sort of!!! I matched the colour myself and applied with a small sponge, to the complete panel where the scuff is. Used a few coats, and this camouflaged the damage

Ok. so email from gliptone today after I enquired via email about the best way to repair the scuff.

Apparently they are ceasing trading as of August 31st! And aren't taking any more orders.

Back to drawing board I guess ....
