    yeah true. I might go with the 5 years then, which is well before the 8 years/80k vauxhall recommends!

    No one has "scaremongered" just pointed out why I changed mine earlier and the reasoning - the gearbox is a sealed for life unit but most of us have seen reason to swap the oil out of it

    I wonder how many people forget to change there cambelt. Or even know there is one lol

    In fairness people rarely keep a car for long enough to need one.

    So finally got my cambelt and water pump done. Cambelt actually looked in good nick but was better to be safe than sorry. One thing I was shocked about was the condition of the auxiliary belt. Cracked in a few places, so had to replace that.

    Last got that replaced when I did the Cambelt the first time. So for anyone doing Cambelt, check your auxiliary as well.
