Default Astra H vxr mileage, what can the car achieve?

My old girl is now hitting 138k, on lpg too for over 100k of it. Gearbox bearings done at 116k, turbo at 120k, I would like to know how far others have got prior to engine destruction, Courtney sport said maybe 200k, what are people’s experiences?

Realistically you could achieve over 200k with good quality oils and regular servicing. Of course, not forgetting mechanical sympathy, even more so as the mileage increases.
Just don’t forget the body work too, keep on top of that with good protection underneath and treating any rust ASAP.

My old Astra, not a VXR but a 1.6 petrol hit over 200k but eventually the ecu went and the body was beyond repair.

I have heard of one getting to 247k before the engine gave up. I know a few that have done 140k+

I have 08, done about 15-20k myself (currently 72k). Had to replace Turbo/Mani & rebuild gearbox (I guess from prev owners). 2K in total. Totally worth it

Trigger's broom effectively - if you replace all the parts that need servicing or fail then there's no reason that it won't keep going.

I'd probably expect to need a rebuild say after 150k-200k as I'd imagine there would be a tail off in performance

You could achieve over 10 miles if you are willing to replace your gearbox 10 times.

What LPG system have you installed?
Is there a valve saver/flashlube installed?

There is no limit to how long it will last, ancillaries will need replacing from time to time and the engine will eventually need rebuilding, or the engine could just be replaced when that time comes.

I guess the only thing you wouldn’t expect to replace is the shell, which may or may not rust severely depending on how it’s looked after.

This is not a question that has a straight answer, you could keep the car in the road for a hundred years but you might end up pretty much replacing everything on the car in that time or more likely internal combustion engines will be band before then
