    Default Insignia 2.0 petrol

    Hello
    I want to buy an Insignia A 2009
    it's 2.0 turbo,front wheel drive
    it has an automatic gearbox

    I just want to know if these are reliable
    is the gearbox problematic?
    what should I check before buying it

    it has 58K miles
    kindly advise

    I reckon the engine should be sound aslong as its got FSH , the gearbox maybe less so , google it , you will find a few reported problems pal

    Try the Insignia Enthusiast forum - there are a lot of people with experience on that exact model there. But I believe the AF40-6 tranny have had a few issues. Try googling AF40-6 problems. Quite a few Saabs use the same GB in the states.

    It's the same transmission (af40-6) used in the automatic VXR, transmission is made by Aisin, kind of a subsidiary of Toyota.

    Same transmission is used in Saabs, volvos, alfa romeo etc.

    Problems comes part from lack of service. They say it's "sealed for life, but in reality it needs frequent replacement.

    The transmission fluid is toyota spec.

    What kind of service?
    Changing oil?
    How often this oil of gear box has to be changed?
