U have to hold the button on the key fob for the windows to go . Assuming both windows were fully up, it ain't the key holders fault,as both windows would go down to the same level.

Get a 20000mah power bank , powers my DC's much more that i use the car.

Some .... want to do damage try to steel it , they will try , idiots, not as if the car stands out much compared with the normal box cars they throw out. Probably got interupted.

I accidently lowered both windows in a golf I had some years ago by sitting down in the house and leaning on the key for a few seconds. Only one window down in this case. I hope it's just a mistake of some kind because I have had a car stolen before and its not nice finding it in a Brook!

Time ago I left my car on the airport for a week..when I returned from my trip found both windows down with same theft attempt message.
Will never know what really happened.

Well, this thread got me thinking and I realised that the window buttons are still live after locking the door with the key out. I honestly thought they were dead without ignition power, obviously not, so not good really as they can be lowered if you are able to get something through a door seal.

You sure? AFAIK they're only active for a few seconds after ignition off. This is at least the case on my astra

I have often gone out to my car (J) in the morning and found the windows down. Luckily never after a rainy night!! I then started leaving my keys upstairs when I got home and don't have the problem any more. At the time, I thought it was someone else's key that was opening the windows but now I know it was my own key getting pressed in my pocket when sitting down during the evenings. I then got my dealer to cancel the key opening facility, in the computer menu.

On the J the windows and mirrors go dead after 2 min or so after you turn off and remove key.
