Have a mate who has been running it bypassed for ages and alot of people seem to do it.
Seeing as my rear BCS is likely buggered anyway, now is a good time to test it out. If its rubbish il just fit another bcs after the test drive and connect it all up.

Just asking for issues still imo. I'd not touch it with a 10 foot clown pole.

Got issues with boost now anyway so worst case they won't improve and il be refitting it and looking at the next possible culprit

It's generally harder to find someone who has no boost issues these days lol.

Agree lol. Always something on this car lately. For a while now I intermittently appear to lose all boost in 2nd gear (just feels like it's NA, doesn't make as much noise and don't get any feel of the turbo working) unsure if it does it in 1st or not, as previously stated I don't launch cars / floor them in 1st.
This improved slightly when replacing the front BCS but it's still doing it occasionally. Don't have any vac leaks or odd noises.
Turbo doesn't smoke so can't see it being that.
Based on my front BCS I'd assume the rear one has never been changed either, but even then, the lack of power in 2nd gear has always sucked. I know once the car is mapped it'll be loads better but that won't be for another couple months yet thanks to my gearbox bearings being done last week..
So, seeing as it will cost me £0, its definitely worth a look.

You wanna remove that boost limit in 1st and 2nd when mapped. Much improved 2nd gear response then

Yeah itll be going regardless, rear BCS / vac box or not

I don't get why vauxhall did the limit from factory as it makes them so boring to drive standard until 3rd. Most the time when you're getting to 3rd your slowing for something.

    Silly really

Tbf I think a lot of it maybe to keep traction. It's easy to just light the tyres up rather than actually progress forward.

I thought the same but when I wrote that on a Facebook page I got shut down being told 'that's what traction control is for. Duh'

No traction control just cuts the drive altogether if it can't grip!!

I literally get in the car, turn on, hold sport button until traction is off and drive off.
