    Default So today I made....

    Ignore the date stamp. Phone was charging while I removed the mold from the vacuum chamber and reinstalled;

    Polyurethane engine mount inserts. Appearance of a hard boiled sweet.
    Poly is still curing in situ so I'll drive it tomorrow.

    Wide angle lens providing some distortion in the images.

    Tomorrow; last job to completely eliminate all notchy feel from the M32 gearbox.
    I think I have the culprit spotted and it's something people haven't mentioned before.
    Running low on raw material, but we'll see how she goes.

    So far;
    Fresh gear oil
    Linkages including under shifter gaiter all lubed
    Short shifter X2

    Organised mess. As long as you know where everything is, you're doing great

    Last factor remaining that's likely causing notchy feeling on gear changes. You'll notice that the standard factory bushing on the end of the linkage (rubber inside the nylon) is very soft and has a lot of play.
    Couple that to the transition of gears 1,3,5 to 2,4,6 and there's quite a bit of compression going on, which makes it sloppy as two bushes (one on the 1,3,5 linkage and one on the 2,4,6 linkage) both compress reducing how direct the throw is.

    Hoping I've enough quick curing material left to mod one bush.

    Done just one today so I had a reference to go by;

    Spray of silicone oil as a releasing agent just in case.
    Pipetted in some liquid polyurethane plastic. Allow a few minutes to turn semi-solid.
    Pressed in the nipple on the shifter arm.
    Allow 10 minutes to set.

    Initial check; with the engine off, no real difference.

    Took it out for a drive.
    Gear shift a bit more direct with the poly engine mount in.

    The big news; Gears 1,3,5 much more direct and easy to find. Slop in gear changes to 1/3/5 noticeably reduced. 2/4/6 are definitely sloppy by contrast.

    Mod works!

    I'll be doing the other cable bushing soon.

    Not mine fortunately. I'd have them all converted to digital files if I had my way.

    Bushes act as a lube.
