I can't get the cv joint out of the wheel hub trying to fit my new abs sensor the cv joint will not detach it's self from the hub so went to vx to get my self a new cv joint and a hub carrier cv joint was £68 and the hub carrier was £590 and i would have to wait till it gets in to the country has any one had to fit a new one and how much did you pay and where from been told it's a main dealer part only i dont like to fit second hand parts but definitely not paying 600 for a new one

I don't see why you need a new upright/hub carrier. Cut through the CV joint as close to the upright as possible, this should allow you to undo the bearing bolts and the remenants of the CV should be small enough to pass through as you remove the bearing assembly.

It’s an Astra plenty of parts in the scrap yard as most parts are the same on any as on most cars.

There are five different variants of upright fitted to the Astra. As vauxhall went to the trouble of making them I'd be careful about fitting just any.
