    I changed an engine once for a women in a 1.6 Zafira when i was at Vauxhall - she drove through Flood water.

    When i took the pistons out - all 4 rods were 'S' Shaped.

    OUCH

    It's funny that you say that as while I was stuck in the middle of my road, four or five other cars decieded to chance there arm and drive through. The only other car the died was another zafira

    at royal mail posties often drowned an engine (1300D turbo combos)usually 2 conn rods bent,thats all...........

    My mate went through a big puddle at speed in his MK4 and it was miss firing like a pig after. Vaux had it in and tried a new throttle body, new EGR valve and i forget what else. None of these made a difference. One day he was pondering and decided to reset the ECU and hey presto, it was fine again.

    I don't think i could bring myself to drive my own car into flood water!
