4. GENERAL

4.1 Although the Administrators and Moderators of VXRonline will attempt to keep all objectionable messages off this forum, we cannot be responsible for message content. All messages express the views of the author. The owners, admin and moderators of the forum accept no responsibility for the views expressed within this forum by the authors/members.

4.2 The owners or the representatives of VXRonline may remove; edit, move, or close topics they feel do not follow the rules.

4.3 VXRonline is not responsible for anything you do as a result of information or advice obtained at this site.

4.4 This is a family forum, please use good judgement when choosing user names, avatars, or images to post, and do not attempt to bypass the word filter. It is there for a reason. Any thread with questionable content, should be labelled as such in the topic title. E.g. NWS (not work safe). If the post is not marked then a moderator may change or edit your post to suit. If you are unsure if a subject is suitable for the site then seek advice from a moderator before posting.

4.5 Use your judgment to post in the correct forum section. Any post not in the correct section may be moved without prior notice to the correct forum.

4.6 When quoting another poster please ensure you do NOT include any photos, not only does this impact on our bandwidth it can be quite frustrating to have to scroll through numerous photos many times on the same thread.

4.7 Personal attacks, rudeness, flaming, baiting, insults to others, or arguments will not be tolerated. Challenge others' points of view and opinions, but do so respectfully and thoughtfully. Please refrain from making excessive negative comments. As the saying goes "If you have nothing nice to say then don't say it". Any member found breaking rule 4.7 will be automatically given a one week ban from the site.

4.8 Any member who threatens anyone on the forum, via PM, instant messengers or Email, will be banned immediately without notice. We reserve the right to remove offensive posts without notice. Our decision is always final in these matters.

4.10 Posting of copyright material is strictly forbidden and will be removed without notice. (Unless of course permission has been granted by the author or credit to the author has been given as per the terms of a licence/contract for usage.) Likewise any posts that seek, discuss or encourage copyright infringement will be removed.

4.11 Blatant spamming of threads is not allowed and any such posts will be removed without notice, please also keep on topic. Sales threads can not be bumped.

4.12 Reposts: Members posting useful topics on VXRonline are to be encouraged. Anyone found to be repeatedly complaining about topics being posted simply because they have seen them already, are liable to receive an infraction, or a visit to the sin bin. If you have seen a post already, please move on and look at another thread. For every member who has already seen something there's likely 10 members who haven't, and for them it's not a repost at all, so no need to make the thread starter feel bad for contributing to the site. Having said that the forum has a search button, please use this first to see if a topic or question is already being discussed to avoid a repost.

4.13 Please refrain from posting meaningless threads, one word (or short) non-sense posts. Multiple or repeated posting in order to increase your post count is not allowed.

4.14 Please make sure you have permission to show number plates in photographs posted on VXRonline - with the advent of cloning we suggest that number plates are masked out.

4.16 We accept that the VXR brand attracts driver’s who are interested in performance, however there is a time and a place for exploiting said performance, i.e. the track and the strip, the VXR Power Events programme offers excellent opportunities. However VXRonline does not condone racing on public roads, any threads relating to such actions will be removed.

5. MODERATION

5.1 Any post or thread may be removed at a moderator’s discretion without informing the post / thread author of the reason. We simply do not have the time nor the inclination to pm every member whose post we choose to moderate – roll with it! (please do not question moderating decisions on the forum (if you have a query contact a moderator/ admin via pm)

5.2 The moderation team may at times have to resort to some form of infraction against members whose conduct is deemed worthy of such action, we will try to illustrate what we mean but there will always be an occasion where action is required to be taken over an unforeseen set of circumstances.

5.3 Any forum member found, either starting a thread or posting inappropriate content, whether directly on a thread or by a link to another site, will be banned for a period of seven days WITHOUT further notice.

5.9 No forum member shall start a thread or post a comment in relation to sexuality or racism. This type of content may result in the forum member being banned from the site permanently and without further warning.
Trolling will not be allowed.

5.10 If a forum member would like to post a thread, but is unsure as to the content, then they are advised to send it to one of the Admin/Mod team for approval or rejection.

5.11 All forum members should realise and appreciate that this site is primarily for car enthusiasts and is directed at all ages of persons with an interest in Vauxhall, the VXR brand and motoring in general.

5.12 We accept that members have a passion for cars and members may change allegiances to or from the VXR brand. Information on other Marques may be posted in the General section of the forum as may threads about members non Vauxhall vehicles, however the member will be restricted to one thread for that vehicle.

5.12 As with any brand there will be some unsatisfied customers, Vauxhall have in place a customer service department to deal with complaints, this should be the first point of call. Sometimes a member will feel that they are not receiving the treatment they expect, we do not expect to see a detrimental post, send a private message to a moderator who will attempt to get some assistance.

5.13 A member who changes brand is welcome to remain on the site however they will be expected to remain courteous to the other members and the VXR brand.

The exceptions to this would be paying for the goods on a face to face deal or were the seller accepts payment by credit card. No seller will refuse to accept paypal goods, the fees must be factored into the price stated in the advert, a seller found to be breaching this rule will have their sales access removed. A sales advert MUST have a picture of the goods offered together with the seller's username and the date clearly visible.

6.5 The Price must be clearly outlined at the start of the post. The price is entirely up to the thread starter and if you do not agree with the price – then simply do not pay it! The price must include postage (to UK) and a discount can be offered for collection at the buyers discretion.

11.TUNERS

11.1 You will hopefully appreciate you are in a privileged position on this forum as a Tuner. Also, as expressed previously you are able to influence, with your posts, the course of action a forum member may take.

11.2 Furthermore, as you are probably aware there have been a number of threads recently with conflicting views from Tuners and forum member alike, which has resulted in the thread either being closed or archived off due to unsuitable comments and/or continual aggressive behaviour. These comments have frequently been abusive, unnecessary or inappropriate, with posters commenting on the thread when they clearly have no real requirement to do so.

11.3 To this end, and to bring some control over these threads, the administration team has decided that new restriction will be placed on both Tuners and forum members alike.

11.4 No Tuner will be permitted to comment on another Tuners thread, by posting on such thread, unless it is in agreement with the owning Tuner. Any agreement should be sort, via what ever means is suitable to a Tuner. In all cases the proposed words should be communicated to the Tuner prior to posting and copied to the administration team.

11.5 No Tuner is permitted to reply to another Tuners thread by starting a completely new thread, of their own, in basic argument and disagreement to a thread created by a Tuner on this forum, unless with direct permission from the administration team , prior to posting, which may be declined if deemed detrimental to this forum.

11.6 No Tuner is to directly or indirectly reference any other Tuner or a Tuners software as to discredit such a Tuner(s) or its software, in direct conflict to a thread created on this forum.

11.7 All Tuners will ensure that any threads/posts they make, DO NOT contain, personal/company opinions in relation to tuning and the sale of products, only factual and/or evaluation data.

11.8 All reference to Tuning products must be related, solely to their own products, and not of another Tuner. If however a Tuner sells multiple products, such as springs, then if a recommendation is given it must be allied to factual evaluation.

11.9 It should be noted that until further notice all post made by Tuners will be subject acceptance by the administration team, and may be removed if it is deemed inflammatory and detrimental to the well being of forum. It will be right of the administration team to question such posts as it deems fit.

11.10 These rules take immediate affect for all current and existing threads. Should any Tuner breach such rules above, it may result in banning access to the site (including all those associated directly with the Tuner), at the administration team discretion.

12. DETAILERS

12.1 You will hopefully appreciate you are in a privileged position on this forum as a Detailer. You are able to influence, with your posts, the course of action a forum member may take when deciding what products, services, processes to follow. As this is a VXR forum we ask that any examples of your work posted in a thread be of a Vauxhall and preferably a VXR.

12.2 Furthermore, as you are probably aware there have been a number of threads recently with conflicting views from various Detailers alike, which has resulted in these rules coming into force.

12.3 No Detailer will be permitted to comment on another Detailers thread, by posting on such thread, unless it is in agreement with the owning Detailer. Any agreement should be sort, via what ever means is suitable to a Detailer. In all cases the proposed words should be communicated to the Detailer prior to posting and copied to the administration team.

12.4 No Detailer is permitted to reply to another Detailers thread by starting a completely new thread, of their own, in basic argument and disagreement to a thread created by a Detailer on this forum, unless with direct permission from the administration team , prior to posting, which may be declined if deemed detrimental to this forum.

12.5 No Detailer is to directly or indirectly reference any other Detailer or a Detailers work as to discredit a Detailer or their processes, in direct conflict to a thread created on this forum.

12.6 These rules take immediate affect for all current and existing threads. Should any Detailer breach such rules above, it may result in banning access to the site, at the administration team discretion.

13. TRADER SALES

13.1 Traders will be allowed a single thread to use as a virtual shop to post their offers etc which they can edit to update in a new trade sales dedicated area.

13.2 Traders will not be restricted to that area and can post in most areas of the site, the exception being the sales sections which will be restricted to private sales by members.

13.3 A trader may point to their shop via their siggie, however spamming of threads to highlight this will not be condoned, nor will deliberate bumping of the original thread.

13.4 The first post on the thread should be edited by the Trader to show their current sales stock or offers.
