  • retracting noise , from pedals ...help

ok guys ive had my car in twice to vauxhall and im getting a little narked now . I can hear a retracting noise coming from the pedals . I start the engine , clutch down into first , slowly roll off , clutch down into second...... then when i push the accelerator pedal further it makes a slight retracting sound , like as if the clutch pedal is getting stuck then freeing itself vx said " we had somebody else with this problem , we replaced the abs unit ... " then he said "but im sure the astra has a check system that it goes through" is this right coz i cant remember any retracting noise before ..... although i have just fitted some sportlines , surely that wont be it ???

    Yes mate.

Every Astra VXR on here does this... After the car has been started as soon as it gets above 10mph or so, you'll hear the ABS do a self-test. If you slow down to a stop, then speed up again you won't hear it. It's only after the ignition has been off and then turned back on again.

    Hope this helps

Nothing to worry about my first astra was a SRI CDTI 150. I had it at two VX dealers before they told me it was an ABS self check. The two astra VXR that ive had have also done it so no worrys.
